The name Bellanca originated from the Italian surname of Italian aviation pioneer and aircraft designer, Giuseppe Mario Bellanca. Bellanca was born on March 19, 1886, in Sciacca, Italy, and later moved to the United States in pursuit of his dreams in aviation. He established the Bellanca Aircraft Corporation in 1927, which went on to become one of the renowned aircraft manufacturing companies of its time.
