Dionysus is a name that originates from Greek mythology and is associated with the god of wine, fertility, and ecstasy. In Greek, his name is Διόνυσος (Dionysos). Dionysus is often depicted as a youthful figure crowned with ivy and holding a thyrsus, a long staff wrapped with ivy leaves and topped with a pinecone. However, Zeus rescued the unborn Dionysus and sewed him into his thigh until he was ready to be born.
