In Greek mythology, Iphigenie was the daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, and the sister of Orestes and Electra. Her story is filled with tragedy and sacrifice.

In order to appease the goddess Artemis and secure a favorable wind for his journey to Troy, Agamemnon was commanded to sacrifice his daughter, Iphigenie.
