Sahara

The name Sahara is derived from the Arabic word "ṣaḥrāʾ" which translates to "desert". It is the largest hot desert located in North Africa, covering an area of approximately 9.2 million square kilometers. The Sahara Desert stretches across multiple countries including Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Sudan, Tunisia, and Western Sahara.

The Sahara Desert is known for its extreme climate characterized by scorching hot temperatures during the day and dropping to freezing temperatures at night.
