Tauret

Tauret is an ancient Egyptian goddess known for her protective and nurturing qualities. She is also regarded as the goddess of childbirth and fertility. The name "Tauret" is believed to have originated from the Egyptian word "taweret" which means "she who is great." Tauret was typically depicted as a hippopotamus-like creature with the head of a lioness, the back and tail of a crocodile, and the legs of a pregnant woman. This unusual combination of animal and human features symbolizes her role as a protective deity.
