Titian

Titian, also known as Tiziano Vecellio, was a renowned Italian painter during the Renaissance period. Born around 1488 in Pieve di Cadore, a small town in the Republic of Venice, Titian became one of the most influential artists of his time. His birth name, Tiziano Vecellio, is believed to have derived from the Italian word "tizio," which translates to "a fellow" or "a chap." However, he is predominantly known by the name Titian, which refers to his hometown.

Titian's artistic abilities were recognized at an early age, and he received training in painting from his older brother, Francesco Vecellio, who was also an artist. He later studied under the guidance of Gentile Bellini and later Giovanni Bellini, two of the leading painters in Venice. Throughout his career, Titian developed a unique style that showcased his mastery of color, composition, and brushwork.
