Zechariah

Zechariah is a biblical name with Hebrew origins, often associated with figures in religious texts and historical accounts. The name means "God has remembered" or "Yahweh has remembered." It has a significant place in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, representing a revered and well-known figure in Jewish and Christian traditions.

In the Old Testament, Zechariah is primarily recognized as one of the twelve Minor Prophets. He was a prophet during the post-exilic period and played a crucial role in the restoration of Jerusalem after the Babylonian captivity. However, due to Zechariah's initial doubt, he was struck mute until the day of John's birth, when his tongue was loosed, and he praised God through the famous passage known as the Benedictus.
